The following is a guide to great sunglasses for infants with Aniridia, as recommended by other parents. All of these sunglasses are wonderful for babies!
Resources for Feeding Children
I know, from experience, that if your child has feeding challenges, it is difficult to know where to turn for help. This is true regardless of whether your child is a picky eater or a problem feeder, whether your child has oral motor delays or strong sensory preferences, and whether it is obvious what has caused the feeding challenges or whether it is still a mystery.
Here are a few of my favorite resources, books, websites and other information that have helped us on our feeding journey.
The Challenges of Feeding Children
I regularly refer to “Feeding Challenges” on this blog, and you may be wondering exactly what that means. So today, I want to talk about the challenges that come with feeding children.
I figured out today that over the course of your child’s first 18 years, you will feed them almost 33,000 times. No wonder feeding children can be challenging!
Free Braille Book Resources for Visually Impaired Children
According to multiple articles, “regardless of nationality, level of education, or their parents economic status, children who grew up with books in their homes reached a higher level of education than those who did not”. And the more books they have, the greater the benefit! Given that a low vision child has additional obstacles to overcome, it seems to reason that providing them with as many books as possible can only benefit them!
When E was little, I was overjoyed to find out that there are many sources of Braille books for children – and that many of those sources include free books for visually impaired and blind children! (After all, the only thing better than a new book is a new FREE book, right?!?) Regardless of what kind of reader your child will turn out to be, I recommend looking into these free resources to help build up your home library!
Pi Day 2018
My sweet girl has always been very interested in everybody’s favorite things. She doesn’t limit herself to favorite colors (of which she has 9!!!) like most of us do. No sireee. She wants to know your favorite number, favorite shape, favorite letter…etc.
Given that I’m a bit of a math geek, I couldn’t stick with just a regular old integer. Instead, I told her that my favorite number is pi. So yesterday, we celebrated Pi Day.
